Brachistochrone and Tautochrone Problems |

I can send you my proof, or explain it to you personally if you
only ask. Please ask! 11/3/2005- I looked it up and apparently Johann Bernoulli's thought up my method for the Brachistochrone but Christain Hugyens did not use my geometric demonstration of the Tautochrone! I derived a diff. eq. for the brachistochrone then matched it with the geometry of a cycloid. I also matched it with a similar diff. eq. for the tautochrone. Perhaps I'll post my proof here eventually; in the meantime just ask me (especially if I applied to some program of yours). |
